Rathi’s Media Centre was founded in 1942 by our great grandfather, Shree Dwarka Das Ji Rathi, with a simple yet powerful vision — to bring knowledge and information closer to the people of Jodhpur.
At a time when access to English publications was limited, he introduced English newspapers to the region, helping expand awareness and nurture a strong reading culture. His dedication to the world of books and publications earned him national recognition, and he proudly served as the Senior Vice President of the All-India Booksellers Association for two consecutive terms.
This legacy was carried forward by our grandfather, Shree Ramswaroop Rathi, who further strengthened the foundation of the business by acquiring leading newspaper and magazine agencies. Under his leadership, Rathi’s Media Centre grew into a trusted and reliable source for periodicals and publications across the region.
The third generation, Mr. Mahesh Rathi and Mr. Sunil Rathi, took this vision even further. They expanded the business beyond the store by building strong relationships with schools, educational institutions, and organizations, extending the reach of Rathi’s Media Centre to different parts of India.
Today, Rathi’s Media Centre proudly stands as a four-generation family business — rooted in trust, guided by experience, and driven by a deep passion for books. From newspapers and magazines to bestselling titles, competitive exam resources, defence and military publications, and curated collections for schools, libraries, and organisations, our journey has always been guided by one purpose: to connect people with knowledge through honest service, personal care, and a commitment that has endured for generations.
As we move forward, we continue to uphold the values that began in 1942 — service, knowledge, and dedication to every reader who walks through our doors.
